Egocentric, impulsive and delightful: young children are some of the most misunderstood - and complex - people on the planet. Rest, Play, Grow provides indispensable advice that every preschooler wishes adults understood: how to interpret, and deal with, challenging behaviour.
Marrying practical tips with more than 25 years of research, clinical counsellor and educator Dr. Deborah MacNamara provides a roadmap to making sense of toddlers based on the integrated, attachment-based and developmental approach from celebrated psychologist Dr. Gordon Neufeld. Through sage advice, personal anecdotes and real-life stories, MacNamara reveals how critical adults are in shaping the conditions required for young children to flourish.
Engagingly written, with clear compassion for its subjects, Rest, Play, Grow reafirms parenting intuition and common sense. It will forever change the way you think of the preschoolers in your life.
