Wonder Speaker Series: Playing & Growing
Why Kids Need to Play Out their Emotions

Featured Speaker: Deborah MacNamara, PhD, author, teacher and counsellor.

Why Kids Need To Play Out Their Emotions is an exclusive speaker event that looks at how play is fuelled by emotion. Without play, our children lose the emotional playgrounds necessary for them to flourish and mature. What does play offer a child's emotional world? How do the primal emotions come to the surface in play? This presentation will address why play and emotion go together and what happens when this space is threatened by screens, instructions, structured activities and entertainment. Proceeds from this speaking engagement will go to the Wonder Gallery, a new, engaging and imaginative space for our youngest learners.

LISTEN TO OUR LAST WEBINAR: PLAY, Our Brain's Favourite Way To Learn
Hosted LIVE with Donna Giachino
M.Sc., SLP Founder/Speech-Language Pathologist

Science supports many of our intuitions about the benefits of play, and early play experiences set the stage for all subsequent development.

Playful behavior appears to have positive effects on the brain and on a child’s ability to learn. In fact, play may function as an important, if not crucial, mode for learning once a child is in school and even up into adulthood.

This webinar will explore some of the brain science behind what we all know intuitively - that play is a critical stage of child development. We will further explore what kinds of play directly influence academic and cognitive growth later on in a child's life. The answers may surprise you.

This is a free seminar provided by our PLAY-ducation initiative to support the healthy growth of families and beans everywhere. In order to provide children less fortunate than us the right to play freely we ask you to kindly make a donation to Playground Builders. Click HERE to make your donation today.
